Developing a no-alcohol wine that tastes beautifully balanced is no easy task, and it’s one of the reasons why wine has been a little lagging in the alcohol-free drinks’ stakes. Spirits drinkers and beer consumers are spoilt for choice – they can choose from a wide range of no (and low) alcohol drinks.

De-alcoholised wines

display significant changes in their sensory profile and quality in terms of aroma, flavour, sweetness, acidity, astringency, and body. The intensity of the aromas and flavours tend to be reduced, the tannins are not so well integrated, and overall, there is a perceived imbalance resulting in an unacceptable taste.
