Fibrosteril is a chemically inert filter aid with a complex alveolar structure, composed by celluloses particularly treated in an acid environment and then reconstituted through specific and exclusive proceedings proper to the AEB technology.
Fibrosteril contains celluloses, highly adsorbent bentonites without swelling properties and perlites obtained by heating up, expanding and grinding siliceous rocks. The perlites present in Fibrosteril are very pure, with a high refining power and an excellent filtration ability and display an ideal granulometric composition.
Fibrosteril has been studied for the continuous dosing filtration and it generally solves problems caused by the adsorption of all chemical and biological products difficult to eliminate during the normal body feed filtration.
This filter aid adsorbs and retains microorganisms, above all yeasts; laboratory tests showed that in the presence of 1.000.000 cells/mL and by dosing with 100 g/hL we obtain an almost complete adsorption of the yeasts. It does not contain diatomaceous earths (kieselguhr) and is free from cristobalite, a substance which is deemed to be harmful to health.
Fibrosteril displays a low permeability, physical quality that, associated to the high adsorbent power, enables to reach very low nephelometric values in the filtered wine. Taking an initial nephelometry of 30-40 NTU and dosing with 100 g/hL, we obtain results of 1-2 NTU.
The formulation is easy to be used. It is used directly in the dosing unit of any filter for the continuous dosing and is dispersed in variable parts of wine or water, between 7 and 10.
